Common questions

What do I need?

An iPhone running iOS 27 and the Health app. An Apple Watch, or another wearable that writes to Apple Health, gives Usual Health the most to work with.

Why does it say "learning your usual"?

Usual Health needs a run of nights from a device before it can judge a reading against your normal. Each device keeps its own usual, so a new watch or ring starts learning from its first night.

Is my health data uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything is read and analyzed on your iPhone, and there is no account. The one exception is optional: if you connect your own account with a cloud AI provider and turn it on, a text summary goes to that provider under your account. Apple Intelligence keeps everything on your iPhone.

How do I delete my data?

Open Settings in the app and choose Delete my data, which walks you through it. Deleting the app also removes what it stored. Your data in Apple Health is not touched.

Can it warn me when I'm getting sick?

It can tell you your body is changing, often before you feel it. When your resting heart rate, HRV, breathing rate and wrist temperature move outside your usual together, that is the pattern a body often shows when it is fighting something off, and your morning brief says so that day.

It will not name what is going on. A hard workout, a few drinks or a short night can move the same signals, and the brief says when one of those may explain it. What a change means is for you and your doctor.

Which AI options are there?

Apple Intelligence on your iPhone, or your own account with Anthropic, OpenAI or xAI. The app works without any of them.
